Even as India scales up its athletic excellence, sports infrastructure and fan engagement rapidly, there is an increasing demand for qualified professionals across sports management, technology, engineering, sciences and media. A 2024 study by Deloitte and Google concluded that the sports sector in India will more than double in size to $130 billion by 2030, and needs an additional 58 lakh qualified professionals by then.
TENVIC Sports and MAHE are establishing an interdisciplinary academic framework integrating sports coaching, management, technology, and sciences to nurture talent for India’s rapidly expanding sports sector. The framework will be supported by a Research and Incubation Hub, fostering innovation in high-performance training, sports infrastructure, and athlete support systems.
A key component of the partnership is the creation of Sports High Performance Centres across MAHE campuses, allowing professional athletes to pursue academic qualifications alongside their training and offering hands-on learning opportunities for students in sports-related disciplines through internships and practical exposure.
Recognizing the need for structured career transitions, TENVIC and MAHE will also equip active and retired athletes with skills required to thrive in corporate and entrepreneurial roles. We will engage with industry, organizations and policymakers to develop meaningful opportunities for athletes retiring from their sports careers.
Through this integrated approach combining education, technology, industry expertise, and athlete-focused residential programmes, the partnership aims to:
